Travelers will be picked up between 6:30 and 7:00 am. We will then head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will go through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes. We will go through rural villages, rivers, orchards, and streams before reaching Huamanmarca at about 1:30 pm.

Later, a private bus will take the group 30 min to a town called Santa Maria. After lunch and a short break you have an option to do river rafting. If you decide to go, we will raft for 2 hrs, always accompanied by a professional safety kayak that will take care of passengers all the time. Those that didn’t book the rafting tour, will go with an assistant guide on our private bus for 20 min to the next town, Santa Rosa. After this, we will walk for 45 min until arriving at the lodge, La Choza. The bus will be waiting for those that went rafting and they will be taken to Santa Rosa to walk for approximately 45 min to join the rest of the group at the lodge, located in a village called Pispitayoc (lunch-dinner).

DAY 2: PISPITAYOC (Ecolodge) – SANTA TERESA (Trekking)

After enjoying an outdoor breakfast, we will walk along the riverbanks and hike up for 30 min. On our way, we will see small coffee plantations and fruit trees. In this area, it is possible to see many types of plants, orchids, and birds, as we will be in the high forest, a paradise of biodiversity on the Inca jungle route. After arriving at the top of the mountain we will see the whole valley of Urubamba. The group will descend for 2.5 hrs to the village of Qellomayo. Lunch will be served here. After a break, we will trek for 3 hrs through farms, rivers, waterfalls until arriving at the hot springs of Santa Teresa. We will have a break and later the group will continue walking for 40 min until reaching the town of Santa Teresa, where we will sleep in a local house (breakfast-lunch-dinner).

After a breakfast at 7:00 am we will explore the roads less traveled. From the town of Santa Teresa, travelers that reserved in advance will do the zipline (to later be taken by bus to Hydroelectrica), and the rest of the group will continue hiking for about 3 hrs to Hydroelectrica, where the whole group will reconvene. Here we will have a great lunch. After a break, the journey will continue along the Inca jungle for 3 hrs, traversing through waterfalls and coca and coffee farms until arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes. The group will be taken to the hostel around 4:00 pm. At night, we will get together for a delicious dinner and briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu (breakfast-lunch-dinner).

DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (walking and visit to sanctuary)

We will begin our day around 4:00 am to go to Machu Picchu, following an ascending route through the high forest. We may have the chance to see the sunrise. After passing the control entrance around 6:00 am the private guide will show us the site for 2 hrs. Later the group will be free to enjoy Machu Picchu on their own. The passengers that reserved the hiking to Huayna Picchu will embark on their adventure for about 2.5 hrs (there and back). The path is very steep at some points but it’s worth it. This trek is not recommended for people that suffer from dizziness. In the afternoon the group will descend to Aguas Calientes to rest or to buy souvenirs until the train departs (9:30 pm) to Ollantaytambo.
